The first phenomenon

Still life photography affords the artist the absolute luxury of interpreting every aspect of the image; there is clarity of vision possible through the creation, use, and presence of light.

The images in the gallery consider the interplay between collected objects and life’s possession, while using the movement of light and shadow as they engage the surrounding space. The arrangement of the various objects and the backgrounds utilized were spontaneous, without regard to a specific criteria or vision. At times, the positioning of the camera enhanced certain objects while obscuring others, or casting abstract shadows. Considered unconventional for the discipline, I allowed the inaccuracies to remain, as perhaps a jazz musician might when exploring harmonic alterations of a standard tune.
